Summer is quickly ending...
Soon the carefree days of summer will be over. Soon undergrads will flood campus like millions of tiny ants scuttling away from a kicked anthill. Soon the seminars, courses, tutoring, marking and TA-ing will recommence. I have a review to write by the end of September and a seminar to give on October 7th not to mention the new grad student 'Meet and Greet' I have to finish organizing by September 3rd. I mean don't get me wrong, part of me loves the chaos and stress that comes with the start of a new semester, but I feel I have taken the uninterrupted hours for experiments, occasional long lunches and afternoon beers for granted. Soon I will barely have time to get done everything I need to, let alone enjoy a little spare time. Lazy Saturday morning lattes on the back deck with the paper will be replaced by running those gels I didn't have time to complete last week. But, hey, this is what grad school is all about I'm loving it!

Science got me in a strangle hold
Some days nothing seem to work. I can't get my yeast to grow and my experiments don't seem to be going the way they should. What's wrong?! I've done most of this stuff before but this week it doesn't seem to be working. Science sucks sometimes.
Welcome
So I'm starting this blog because well... some days I just feel I need to tell the world something and I'd really like it if the world told me what it thought back, or just wanted the world to know. And by the world I really mean the handful of individuals who will accidently stumble upon this blog and read it too.
